B&R counted more than 700 registrations for the two-day week, which is available for a year from today, Friday, in Eggelsberg (Upper Austria). The head of the automation specialist talks to the “Krone” about the background and reactions to the job offensive and how the work can be made more interesting.
B&R director Jörg Theis greets every employee he encounters in production in Eggelsberg with a “Hello”. The manager is also in the factory today, Friday and tomorrow, Saturday, when more than 300 employees start their first shift at the automation specialist. Two ten-hour weekend-only shifts, paid like a full-time job, limited to a year—that’s how the company had lured her. A job offensive that caused quite a stir. At the beginning of April, another 200 people will join the model.
