The fire brigade of Jenbach (Schwaz district in Tyrol) had to master a rather unusual mission on Friday afternoon, because a three-year-old boy was literally in trouble. In fact, the little one got his finger stuck in a hole in a slide.
It was probably a prank by a vandal who killed the three-year-old. There was a small hole in the slide at a housing complex in Jenbach, and the boy stuck his finger in it. However, he never got out. His parents also failed to free their son. The father then called 911.
Special tools for liberation
Eight members of the Jenbach Volunteer Fire Department came to help the child. Using the appropriate tools from a toolbox specially designed for such operations, the firefighters drilled a second hole in the bottom of the chute. The enlarged opening allowed the child’s finger to be freed.
After a brief examination by the emergency services, it was also clear that the boy was fine and did not need to be taken to hospital. The slide that got him into his predicament in the first place has been shut down by the fire department.
