Missing since February 7 – Missing Czech found dead in Pinzgau

Date:

A skier from the Czech Republic who had been missing for about four weeks was found dead in a ditch in Piesendorf on Monday.

The 41-year-old was on February 7 with some winter sports enthusiasts on the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. He had separated from the group shortly after noon, but did not return to the valley by evening. Police are currently assuming an accident.

The dead man was recovered by the Libelle police helicopter. The man was searched several times without success. It was initially assumed that he had gone home, but he never got there. “We currently assume that he skied into the terrain and had an accident,” said a police spokeswoman.
