A 40-year-old man broke into a house in Vienna-Donaustadt around 9 p.m. on Tuesday night, completely drunk. Fortunately, the tenant (40) was not home at the time of the crime, but her 35-year-old boyfriend was. It soon turned out that the drunk burglar had been the tenant’s “ex”.
It was late in the evening when the 40-year-old man broke into the home. The tenant’s girlfriend – who was in the apartment during the crime – reacted immediately and locked herself in the bathroom before alerting the police.
Ex-boyfriend had 2.26 per thousand in the blood
On the spot, the officials found a heavily intoxicated Latvian citizen with a crowbar in his hand in the house and provisionally arrested him. It soon turned out that the burglar was the tenant’s ex-boyfriend. But not only that – the man also had 2.26 promille in his blood.
The Latvian has not yet been questioned – no one was injured in the incident.
