On December 15, a woman (55) was the victim of a brutal robbery at her home in Stattegg (Graz-Umwelt district in Styria). Her partner at the time would have played an important role in this.
The 57-year-old Croat was arrested by the police on Tuesday. He is suspected of passing on information to his son about the property on site and, more importantly, the amount of loot. He was part of the gang that committed the robbery.
The perpetrators could strike quickly and effectively on the basis of the information. Among other things, they had an angle grinder with them, with which they could detach a safe containing jewelry and cash from the anchorage and take it with them.
Don’t confess
The victim’s ex-partner has not confessed. However, according to a police statement, evaluated electronic devices would put a strain on him.
Two weeks ago, the police attacked the perpetrator gang. Since then, five men have been detained and the search for a 22-year-old Brazilian is still ongoing. He was the last resident in Leoben, but was able to go into hiding.
