A London court sentenced a climate activist to five weeks in jail after blocking a major highway for hours. Three other defendants received suspended sentences.
As reported, the three men and a woman were trapped on the M4 motorway near Heathrow Airport in the autumn of 2021. Traffic was halted for more than two hours, around 10,000 vehicles were affected. The climate activist and climate activists are part of the Insulate Britain group, which has blocked the ring road on several occasions.
