It has been established since Tuesday: the police station in Trieben (Styria) will reopen on April 1, despite the bloody crime in which a police officer shot the commander.
The shock is still in the bones of the people. No one ever imagined that a police officer would kill his superior at the police station. Understandably, normal functioning was no longer an issue after that. But now it’s a step back to normality. As police spokesman Fritz Grundnig confirms, the department will reopen on April 1 after the necessary renovation work.
Position not yet filled
However, the office is not staffed by a commander and a deputy for the time being. Because the deceased man took over the main post at a time when he himself still worked in a deputy position. “The deputy post was advertised but not yet filled,” says Grundig. Unfortunately, it is now a matter of finding successors for both the managerial and deputy positions. Grundig: “Until then, this will be solved with service commands.”
