Volkswagen Navarra announces a new closure for March 20, 2023

Date:

UGT has indicated that in consultations with the Union Monitoring Commission held this morning, they have also been made aware of the possibility of more days of closure due to the uncertainty in the supply of airbag control units.

Volkswagen Navarre announced that will stop production on Monday of next week a closure again prompted by the instability in semiconductor supply, taking into account this day ERTE.

As reported to staff via a statement from the company “there will be no production next Monday the 20th due to instability in semiconductor supply” who have considered this day as ERTE, except for those who are signed up by their headquarters to perform training or other duties.

UGT, the trade union with majority representation in the works council, has indicated in the consultation held this morning with the Union Monitoring Commission that it has also been informed about the possibility that more closing days can be added due to the uncertainty in the supply of airbag control units.

As stated by the UGT “today they are only available for two days” and “if they don’t have enough to fill next week’s four days, production will stop at the end of the week”, a problem that “will be communicated to so as soon as possible.”
