The Polish secret service has broken up a ring of suspected Russian spies. “The entire espionage network has been dismantled,” Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Thursday. There was a real threat to Poland.
“It was clearly an espionage network gathering information for the benefit of those who attacked and committed war crimes in Ukraine,” Blaszczak said.
Spying on railway lines
According to unofficial information from the radio station Rmf.fm, the espionage network was mainly concerned with spying on railway lines. According to this discovery, Polish secret services discovered hidden cameras on major routes and railway junctions, which recorded the traffic on the tracks and sent the images to the Internet.
Poland has hosted about 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine. The EU and NATO country is also the main hub for the delivery of Western military aid to Ukraine.
