The warning came after the Directorate of State Security and Intelligence (DSN) received information that an Islamist-motivated attack was planned. The executive branch did not provide any further information or warnings to the Archdiocese of Vienna, Michael Prüller, spokesman for the archdiocese, told Kathpress on Thursday. All churches are open, all services would continue, said Prüller, who spoke of “normal church life”.
Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP) did not provide any information about the threat situation in Vienna during a media event on Thursday morning. He referred to the communication via the state police.
