Four children were slightly injured in an accident with a bus near Kohfidisch in the Oberwart district in the south of Burgenland on Friday morning. A car collided with the school bus on L106 at 7:30 am, the driver was trapped and seriously injured.
The school bus, which fortunately was not fully occupied, was driving from Kotezicken towards Kohfidisch when the accident happened. At that moment, two cars drove into the oncoming lane.
Collided head-on with bus
When the driver of the car in front suddenly braked, the driver behind tried to swerve to the left and collided head-on with the school bus. He was trapped in the car and was flown by C16 emergency helicopter to the accident hospital in Graz with injuries of undetermined extent, the state security center and state police headquarters reported.
Three fire brigades and two ambulances are present
According to initial information on the scene, four students were injured in total. After the accident, a local diversion was put in place on the provincial road. Three fire brigades from the region, two ambulances and the police came into action.
