Serious accident in Lambach (Upper Austria): A 17-year-old girl from the Wels-Land district was hit on Friday in the middle of a zebra crossing. The rescue took her to the hospital in Wels.
A 17-year-old had complied with all good traffic rules on Friday afternoon. At around 10:50 a.m., the youngster crossed a protective path on Salzburger Strasse in Lambach. Still, the walk in her home community had fatal consequences.
Several meters through the air
A 73-year-old driver from the Wels-Land district caught the teenager in the middle of the pedestrian crossing. The 17-year-old was flung several meters through the air and came to rest a short distance down the road. It is still unclear how the collision happened.
The young victim of the accident was admitted to the Wels Clinic. The severity of her injuries is currently unknown.
