In Vienna-Brigittenau, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old on her way home. Already in the subway she would have been approached intrusively and harassed by the unknown man. When she asked a passenger for help, the man disappeared and she transferred to another part of the train. Shortly afterwards, she got off at the Jägerstrasse subway station, when suddenly the man who allegedly assaulted and raped her reappeared.
The woman was injured in the attack, police said. Witnesses noticed the incident and immediately alerted the police. One of the witnesses followed the suspect to Vienna-Alsergrund, near Spittelau. He reported the location to the emergency call the entire time. The police managed to arrest the suspect immediately after the crime.
The suspect denies the crime
The 24-year-old denies the crime. After his interrogation, he was transferred to a prison after consultation with the Vienna public prosecutor’s office. The Viennese detectives are investigating this case.
