Although there are high penalties for bomb threats – two girls from a school in Klagenfurt have already been convicted – it still goes ahead. On Monday morning, emergency services had to go to three schools in Klagenfurt.
Shortly before 11 a.m., the Ursuline School and Kindergarten in Klagenfurt had to be evacuated. Hundreds of students had to await the situation in the Kiki Kogelnik Park. Further assignments followed, again on Pädag in Hubertusstraße and on HTL Mössingerstraße. In the past two weeks there have been a total of twelve bomb threats in Carinthian schools. The buildings were searched, but no explosives or other dangerous objects were found.
Another student confessed
As reported, two of the incidents are about to be cleared up. On Friday, two girls at a school in Klagenfurt were investigated for a threat through writing samples, on Sunday another student admitted to leaving a threatening message at another school, a police spokesperson said.
It carries high penalties
Triggered false alarms and threats are punished with heavy penalties. Assuming a simple dangerous threat, the perpetrator or perpetrators risk a prison sentence of up to one year if convicted. If the charge is extended to mandatory land, the sentence will be increased to a maximum of three years. If the crime has far-reaching consequences, a prison sentence of five years is possible.
