Two teenagers from Austria ended up in police custody in Paris last Friday. The two 15-year-olds were allegedly arrested during protests against the pension reform. As the foreign ministry explained, the Austrian embassy in Paris could get “a speedy release” after receiving the relevant information.
The embassy complied with its obligation to provide consular support, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
“Currently” no change to the travel advice for France is planned. It says that riots could break out during the “frequent demonstrations” in Paris and other major cities and that the “instructions of the French security authorities must be followed”.
