Animal Rescue in St. Valentin in Upper Austria! A small roebuck had fallen into the Enns Canal and could not get out of the water. The volunteer fire department came to rescue the poor animal from the cold water of the canal that feeds the St. Pantaleon power station.
Observant passers-by discovered the animal in the water early Friday morning and immediately called the fire brigade. It soon became clear that the animal had to be taken out of the water quickly, because the roebuck could not free itself due to the strong current and the smooth bank walls.
With the help of a cord, the animal was eventually caught under a bridge and rescued from the water by a firefighter who had taken off his protective clothing. After the first aid, the animal was carefully rubbed dry and warmed up, then the deer ran to an adjacent field and the fire brigade was able to leave.
