The driver of a public bus in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate was on the road with more than three per thousand on Friday. The bus repeatedly drove into oncoming traffic on a national highway, police said.
Other vehicles had to give way and brake. After a road user reported the striking behavior to the police, a patrol checked the bus driver at Boppard train station. There were no passengers on the bus.

A breath alcohol test showed a value of 3.13 promille. Subsequently, blood was taken from the driver and his driver’s license was confiscated. According to the police, a criminal case has been started for endangering road traffic.
