Iberdrola posted a net profit of 1,058 million euros in the first quarter of the year, 3% more than in the same period of the previous year, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
International business, especially the United States and Brazil, has pushed the multinational, which has recorded a sharp 29% drop in profits in Spain, to 337 million euros.
Spain accounts for less than a third of business results.
With these figures up to March, the company estimates a net profit for this year between 4,000 and 4,200 million euros.
