Death after chase – Suspect jumped from stolen police car

Date:

A spectacular chase ended in the US state of California: a man first stole a police car and then jumped out of the vehicle at a speed of about 70 kilometers per hour – he eventually paid for this stunt with his life.

Earlier there had been a traffic accident in the city of Santa Clarita, where the director had been called. When the police arrived, one of those involved in the accident got into a patrol car and accelerated. The suspect was said to have had psychological problems.

Head hit the road after jumping out of the car
A wild chase ensued, during which the police car thief allegedly pulled a shotgun and an assault rifle. The ride ended on highway 138: the suspect simply jumped out of the car at 70 km/h. His head hit the road and he lay unconscious in the middle of the road.

The police car eventually crashed into a lamppost. Police officers immediately warned to help the suspect. Despite the best efforts of first responders, he did not survive the incident – he was eventually pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
