Use of animals – police dog “sniffed” thieves gang in Vienna


After two men robbed a ground-floor apartment in Vienna-Penzing on Wednesday night, they didn’t expect an attentive witness to observe them and then also to be “sniffed” by a police dog.

The burglary took place in a ground floor apartment on Heinrich-Collin-Strasse. The observant witness warned the police shortly afterwards to be able to arrest the two in time.

The police surrounded the apartment in question. In addition, the courageous police dog “Major Lex” was also used to search the apartment. The two suspects were hidden in the bedroom and bathroom and were promptly “sniffed out” by “Major Lex”.

Broke in through the patio door
The men are a 22-year-old and a 30-year-old suspect. Both were arrested. The two men used the patio door to break into the apartment.
