As reported, there will be no criminal consequences after the rejection of a continuation application in the ongoing Corona case in Ischgl. However, claims for damages of around seven million euros are pending throughout Austria, the Consumer Protection Association (VSV) reported on Saturday.
The decision of the Innsbruck court came as no surprise to Kolba. “That was to be expected. From the beginning, the criminal justice system in Tyrol did not investigate politicians who were active at the time, but only suspected state officials and the mayor of Ischgl and has now finally stopped this procedure,” he stated.
300 victims of the “official chaos” in Ischgl would see things differently, Kolba referred to the pending claims for damages against the Republic of Austria and the state of Tyrol before the regional courts in Vienna and Innsbruck.
VSV does not give up
“We will exhaust all agencies to clarify responsibility for the spread of reportedly 11,000 infected people across Europe,” said the VSV chairman. He assumed that the Supreme Court (OGH) would ask the European Court of Justice for a preliminary ruling on the interpretation of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
