After the devastating earthquake in the Turkish-Syrian border area in February 2023, thousands were killed. But miracles also happened: time after time people were rescued alive from the rubble – many of them babies. Now a boy and his mother have been reunited thanks to a DNA test – after more than 50 days!
It was a moving moment when, 128 hours after the quake, a two-month-old boy was pulled alive and physically unharmed from under the rubble in eastern Turkey’s Hatay province.
But the mother could not be found (for now) by rescue teams. The woman was taken to a different hospital than her son.
Now the little one has been returned to his family. After 54 days there was a happy reunion with the parents and the big sister.
“We were looking everywhere for our baby,” the mother announced beaming with joy on haberet.com after the long separation. Musa’s father was also happy: “We have our baby back. I am very happy. I thank you all.”
