Three young people between the ages of 15 and 16 seized four unlocked vehicles from the city of Salzburg, Obertrum and Gmunden for trips. But that’s not all: the trio committed further crimes between the beginning of February and the end of March. The police could now investigate the men.
Some cars used for the trips were damaged. Police secured the vehicles in Salzburg-Gnigl. The three youths also stole wallets and cash from unlocked vehicles. They used the stolen ATM cards for cigarettes and food at fast food restaurants.
In the garage of a shopping center in Salzburg, the trio gained access to a car and stole five-figure cash. They bought designer clothes and an expensive mobile phone with it. The officials managed to secure part of the money in the apartment of the 15-year-old from Salzburg. There they also found a mobile phone that he had stolen earlier in Straßwalchen.
Total damage in five figures
On March 20, the police officers succeeded in arresting the young people at a furniture store in Salzburg. The 15-year-old refuses to testify and is currently in Salzburg prison. The two 16-year-olds have confessed and are set free. The motive: having fun driving and taking advantage of opportunities. The total damage is about 50,000 euros, the material damage is only a few thousand euros.
