Liverpool trial – Life sentence for murder of Olivia (9)

Date:

A 34-year-old has been sentenced to life in prison following the fatal shooting of a nine-year-old girl in Liverpool in August 2022. The man must serve a minimum of 42 years behind bars. The convict refused to appear in court for sentencing.

The perpetrator denied the allegations. However, an accomplice admitted to grabbing the 34-year-old after the crime and driving away. The jury found him guilty last week of murder, attempted murder and intentional aggravated assault.

While chasing a drug rival last August, the man fired into the open door of an apartment building, killing nine-year-old Olivia.

The background, according to the investigators, was a gang war in the drug scene. When a fugitive broke into the girl’s house through the accidentally unlocked door, the gunman fired after her. He fatally beat the child and injured the mother’s wrist.

“Girl Loved Life”
Olivia’s family praised the child in a statement as “a unique, talkative, curious little girl who loved life and what it had to offer”. The case sparked outrage across the country.

pink and butterflies
Olivia’s funeral took place in mid-September. The funeral home staff wore dark suits with pink ties and pink butterfly brooches. Her white coffin was also decorated with butterflies, which she loved very much. Like the color pink.
