Fire alarm on Monday evening in the Ausserfern in Tyrol: A fire broke out at a timber construction company in Höfen, probably due to a technical defect. Several fire brigades from the area fought against the flames and the enormous smoke development. The damage is enormous.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., sirens sounded in Höfen and the surrounding communities. “Warehouse fire” was the operational code of the control center in Tyrol. An employee of the timber construction company was carrying out inspection work when he suddenly noticed the fire due to the enormous smoke development. The employee immediately raised the alarm!
The fire brigades from Höfen, Lechaschau, Wängle and Reutte were immediately on site and fortunately were able to get the situation under control relatively quickly and extinguish the fire.
Wood chips caught fire
Police believe the cause of the fire was technical. “Probably been in the area due to a defect a machine, wood chips caught fire – the fire then spread in the factory hall,” the researchers say.
Fortunately no one was injured. However, there was significant material damage in the workshop. The amount cannot be estimated at this time.
