Crusade Against Justice – Trump Back at Mar-a-Lago: “Nation in Decline”

Date:

Former US President Donald Trump has returned to his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, after the sensational reading of the charges against him in New York. As expected, in his first public speech after the indictment, he railed against the judiciary and political opponents and saw his “nation in decline”.

“The only crime I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation against those who seek to destroy it,” the Republican told a crowd of fans in Mar-a-Lago Tuesday night (local time). The charge against him was “massive electoral interference on a scale our country has never seen before”.

“Never thought something like this could happen in America”
“I never thought something like this could happen in America,” said Trump, who is running as his party’s presidential candidate in the 2024 election. Under Democratic leadership, the country is going to hell. The prosecution against him is a politically motivated attempt by his opponents to eliminate him before the 2024 election.

“Leftist Fools”
“Our justice system has become lawless,” Trump said. The Democrats tried to abuse it to win elections. “We are a nation in decline. And now these radical leftist lunatics want to use law enforcement to influence our elections. We can’t allow that.’ The charge is ridiculous, the prosecutor in charge, Alvin Bragg, is a failure.

Trump returned to his sprawling Florida estate from New York on Tuesday night. In Manhattan, he had to appear in court for a reading of the indictment, where he was confronted with the details of the historic indictment (see video above). He is the first former US president to face criminal charges.

34 counts – 34 innocent counts
In the indictment, the public prosecutor accuses him of falsifying business documents in 34 cases. He wanted to hide harmful information and illegal activities before and after the 2016 elections. The focus of the allegations is the payment of hush money to the porn actress Stormy Daniels. In all 34 counts, Trump pleaded “not guilty” in New York.

Cumbersome procedure
The further procedure after the reading of the indictment will take a long time. Before a trial, there is a series of hearings and the opportunity to make various requests. Trump’s lawyers could try to delay the trials and burst a trial. Trump himself will not appear in court again until December 4.

The process could overshadow the next election campaign
Prosecutors suggested January 2024 as a start date for a potential Trump trial, but the defense has argued for a later date — late spring 2024. The judge said it would be prudent to proceed as soon as possible. The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 2024. The internal party primaries are expected to begin in February 2024.
