The meeting between the French Prime Minister and the trade unions on the pension reform has concluded in “failure”, thus they confirmed labor unionsfor the negative by Elisabeth Borne van delete text legal.

The representatives of the eight main trade union centers have read a joint statement at the end of the meeting that lasted just under an hour. The main message they have sent is that the unions are not prepared to open negotiations on other labor issues, as Borne wanted, until they withdraw the pension reform.

Cyril Chabanier, President of CFTC, has stated that it has been “necessarily a failure”. “The prime minister has said she wants to keep her text,” she reported, adding that “it is a serious decision because almost the entire population rejects it.”

For his part, Laurent Berger, Secretary General of CFDT, has regretted that the Prime Minister has summoned them when the process of passing the law has been completed. “It’s too late,” he assured. He has acknowledged that the issues Borne wanted to bring to the table are important, but he has clarified that “they relate to pensions and the postponement of the retirement age”.

Sophie Binet, the new leader of CBT, has viewed this morning’s meeting as useless, saying that “the government has become radicalised, dulled and disconnected from reality”. Likewise, he has affirmed that he is responsible for creating the social climate that has been created and that mobilizations should continue “until the government understands that there is no other way out than the withdrawal of the reform.”

As for her, Prime Minister Elizabeth BorneHas made a short statement after the meeting with the unions, in which he emphasized “the respectful tone” they have maintained. He has assured that he has listened to every union and has emphasized his “availability” to them, as he does not intend to continue without them in the other social discussions he plans to start. However, she remembered that she considers reform necessary of pensions.

That is why the trade union centers have a phone call so that “there is the maximum number of workers and citizens in the demonstrations” of tomorrow Thursdaythe eleventh day of protest.
