Search aborted – new track failed: Adriana no longer found

Date:

A large-scale search for the 22-year-old American ended in vain on Wednesday. After evaluation of the mobile phone data, a new lead led to the Traunstein. Adriana E. was no longer found there.

Where is Adrian? Two mountain rescue teams, sniffer dogs, nine alpine police officers and two drones were deployed on Wednesday to search for the missing American. The authorities had actually already given up the search for the 22-year-old.

Just gone since March 18
Adriana E. left Scharnstein for a walk on Saturday, March 18 – she has been missing ever since. Emergency services searched for the missing for three days, after which the action was discontinued.

The alpine terrain made it difficult to use. Because the cell towers were so far apart that the American’s mobile phone could only be located approximately, the search radius was enormous (a total of more than 700 hectares). So the search was called off.

New clue brought new quest
Until last week, mobile phone data in particular gave a new clue. The last localization could be made at the Traunstein. On Wednesday, another rescue team went to work there. From the morning hours the large contingent was on the lookout for Adriana. Thanks to the mobile phone data, the search radius could be reduced to 800 meters. The armed forces therefore mainly concentrated on the area around the Laudachsee.

But also on Wednesday, the numerous helpers involved in the search for the 22-year-old had to leave again in the late afternoon without result. No further searches are planned at this time, police said.
