WEGA operation on the A23 – priority given: the driver (42) produced a knife

Date:

A freakout due to an alleged priority violation led to a WEGA operation in Vienna on Tuesday night. A driver was so angry that he threatened his counterpart with a knife…

According to the police, the driver would have been out in the evening in Simmering. Apparently the incident happened on the Mühlsangergasse. The 42-year-old Austrian apparently got the right of way, which he took offense to the “traffic hooligan” – a 34-year-old. He allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to use it before continuing, the director said.

With the support of WEGA troops, police officers pursued the alleged perpetrator and eventually managed to stop the car on the A23. The suspect was provisionally arrested, two knives were found in the car and secured.

The 42-year-old did not confess, he denies the crime.
