In a statement, the police also indicated that the officers searched “several addresses in the context of the investigation” and thus a report is created It will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Service.

Sturgeon had announced her resignation as First Minister of Scotland and leader of the SNP last February, and had done so to replace last week from Humza Yousaf after internal elections.

The former independence leader, who retains her seat in Edinburgh’s Holyrood parliament, “will fully cooperate with Police Scotland if necessary, although no such request has been made to date,” her spokesman said yesterday.
