Tons of loot – gang hunts excavators, tractors etc.

Date:

The police are currently feverishly looking for unknown people who are hunting for expensive construction equipment. Several vehicles weighing several tons recently disappeared from construction sites within two nights!

Apparently this gang isn’t satisfied with small things. On the contrary: within two nights, the unknown people stole several construction machines weighing tons from two construction sites in Grafenegg in the Krems district.

Drinks, food, diggers
The criminals first struck at a snack bar. Because renovation work is currently taking place there, an excavator has been parked there overnight. The perpetrators not only broke into the shop and took everything they could get their hands on, from food and drinks to cash, they also took the crawler excavator. They probably arrived with a low loader themselves.

They probably hit a company a few hundred meters away with this one night later. There they first cut open the fence to gain access to the site. They loaded everything they could find on the site itself. The list of stolen items includes an excavator, as well as a tractor, a dump truck, a vibrating plate and a cutting device.

Six-figure damage amount
In total, the value of the stolen goods amounts to a six-figure sum. The police are investigating at full speed. This is not the first such series in this region. About three years ago, a gang was active in the Krems and Horn districts, where excavators, dumpers and vibrating plates were also stolen.
