A serious traffic accident occurred on the southern autobahn in the Wernberg area in the early hours of Friday morning. Several fire brigades were deployed.
“Major traffic accident on the A2 with a person trapped,” was the report for the local fire brigade just after five o’clock on Friday morning. A car and a van collided on the south autobahn near Wernberg. “The 22-year-old driver of the car hit the truck of the 55-year-old Slovenian who was driving in front of him for unknown reasons,” the police said. This caused both vehicles to overturn several times before the transporter came to a stop on the shoulder and the car came to rest on its roof at the edge of the roadway.
When the fire brigade arrived, the ambulance and the police were already on the scene. “There were no more occupants in the vehicles, they were already being treated medically,” said the emergency services from Wernberg, who carried out the clean-up work. The 22-year-old was injured indefinitely, the Slovenian was unharmed. There was serious damage to both vehicles.
The Velden am Wörthersee fire brigade and the HFW Villach were also deployed.
