After two dead brothers were found in Hockenheim (Baden-Württemberg) on Easter Sunday, “a 43-year-old relative” has now been arrested, according to the police. This is the boys’ mother, it was announced on Monday.
Mannheim’s senior prosecutor Andreas Grossmann confirmed the relevant information from “Bild”. “The suspicion is directed against the mother. She also informed the police herself,” he told the German newspaper. The motive and the course of events are currently still under investigation.
Earlier it was only said that a 43-year-old relative had been arrested on suspicion of murder on the spot. The bodies of the children, which were discovered in an apartment in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, will be autopsied on Tuesday. Brothers Hagen and Theodor were nine and seven years old respectively. The mother of the two would have been handcuffed without any resistance.
