The fire brigade of St. Lorenzen and St. Margarethen, together with the Red Cross, an emergency doctor and the police, were alerted to a serious traffic accident in Styria on the evening of Easter Sunday. A motorist lost control of his vehicle on the L 553 around 8 p.m. and rolled over.
The driver was thrown from his vehicle and trapped under the car. “27 fire chiefs were able to lift the car lying on the roof by hand, so that the injured person could be rescued from the danger zone,” explains Wolfgang Findl, manager of the St. Lorenzen fire brigade.
While the fire brigade set up the double fire protection and implemented safety measures, the injured person received first aid from the emergency doctor and the Red Cross and then transported to hospital.
