The destructiveness of some motorists sometimes knows no bounds. On Monday evening, a radar cabin in Vienna-Donaustadt apparently so upset a stranger that he quickly set it on fire and smashed the window.
At around 4:00 a.m., attentive motorists noticed the burning radar cabin in Breitenleer Straße and immediately alerted the emergency services. Shortly afterwards, the fire was extinguished by the Viennese fire brigade.

According to police, the vandal may have first tried to break the glass of the radar cabin, force open the side ventilation slots, then poured an oxidizing liquid into the device and set it on fire.
The damage is a five-figure average range. However, only the exterior of the aircraft was damaged in the incident. The measuring instrument itself must not be damaged. So far there is no trace of the unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
