The investigation is in full swing after an armed attack on a gambling shop in Oberwart (Burgenland). Police have now published police photos of the suspect and are asking the public for more information.
As reported, the wanted perpetrator attacked the restaurant in the early hours of Saturday, March 18, threatened an employee and stole the proceeds. The stranger had already been noticed when he first entered the betting shop in Oberwart in the middle of the night. Apparently he wanted to scout the crime scene and spy on security systems. The guest made a rather harmless impression to staff and the public. He was wearing work clothes, a little dirty.

Between 30 and 40 years old, about 185 cm tall, average build. That was the case at the time of the crime The perpetrator was dressed in dark work trousers, a light-colored jacket with a hood, a red checked waistcoat, a red-beige cap and dark shoes.

The criminal returned around five in the morning. This time with the intention of looting the cash register. The robber was dressed in the same outfit, except he had a hood pulled over his head. The shooter immediately demanded money. The threatened employee received a shock.
According to the current status, the perpetrator would have stolen almost 3000 euros. The robber managed to escape. A large-scale manhunt – supported from the air by a police helicopter – came to nothing.
