Stegenwald power plant – concrete mixer crashed: driver seriously injured

Serious accident at the construction site of the Stegenwald power plant: A concrete mixer and a truck fell down an embankment on Tuesday afternoon. The 29-year-old driver was trapped in the truck and was seriously injured.

At the construction site of the new Salzach power plant Stegenwald inwerfen on Tuesday around 5 p.m., a concrete mixer fell several meters over an embankment. The 29-year-old driver had previously tried to pass an oncoming car and get off the snow-covered road. The heavy vehicle tipped sideways and came to a stop next to the Salzach. The driver was trapped in the accident and was seriously injured, according to the Red Cross.

The volunteer fire brigade was able to free the man from the driver’s cabin with the help of heavy equipment. The 29-year-old was taken to the clinic in Schwarzach after treatment by the emergency doctor. The crashed concrete mixer is expected to be recovered on Wednesday.
