The 29-year-old driver had previously tried to pass an oncoming car and get off the snow-covered road. The heavy vehicle tipped sideways and came to a stop next to the Salzach. The driver was trapped in the accident and was seriously injured, according to the Red Cross.
The volunteer fire brigade was able to free the man from the driver’s cabin with the help of heavy equipment. The 29-year-old was taken to the clinic in Schwarzach after treatment by the emergency doctor. The crashed concrete mixer is expected to be recovered on Wednesday.
