After the fatal accident in the village of Munich (Lower Austria) – a truck driver was killed when a crane fell on the driver’s cab of his trailer – more details have been released. The identity of the victim has since been clarified, but the area is still cordoned off and the investigation into the case is in full swing.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. An expert was commissioned to clarify the backgrounds. The fatal victim is a 59-year-old German. He was in the cab of a semi-trailer truck when the remote-controlled tower crane fell and crashed into the vehicle.
The cabin of the truck was completely deformed, the driver died at the scene of the accident, the fire service reports.
Crane operator collapsed
A 53-year-old from Mödling district acted as crane operator. The man collapsed after the accident. He received a shock and, according to police spokesman Stefan Loidl, was treated on an outpatient basis at a hospital.
