A 26-year-old drug driver made the police sweat in Walgau (Vorarlberg) on Friday afternoon. He will probably feel the effects of his various freaks for a long time to come.
There are stories that life itself writes only under the influence of alcohol. Something like this happened in Walgau on Friday afternoon: around 2.30 pm, a 26-year-old man from Bludesch drove his car on the L50 towards Thuringia – and he was completely drugged. It happened as it was supposed to happen: the drug driver drove into a car driving in front of him.
But that was just the beginning of the drama: instead of quitting, the 26-year-old kept racing. Shortly afterwards, he left the roadway, hit a house with his car and eventually crashed into a fence. After all: now the car was irrevocable.
police officers injured
The second act of the drama ensued: as the script intended, two police patrols happened to be on the scene. And as it should be, the officials wanted to provide first aid to the victim. But the 26-year-old did not want to be helped at all – he started to rage, lashed out like crazy and attacked the police officers. Four officers were injured and the man could only be overpowered with combined forces.
He first went to the state hospital in Bludenz, after which he was examined at the city’s police station to see if he was fit to drive. The result surprised no one: The Bludescher was under the influence of addictive substances. Although he was allowed to leave the police station unpunished, the legal aftermath of his fallout is likely to cost him dearly.
