The Russian invasion has claimed the lives of 219 children, the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office reported. The highest number of victims has been recorded in the Donetsk region and in Kiev, with 139 and 115 deaths respectively.
In the Kharkov region, where the country’s second largest city is located, 95 deaths have been recorded. It is followed by the Chernigov region (68), Kherson (44) and Mikolaiv (43).
In addition, since the Russian invasion began on February 24, 398 children injured and Russian troops damaged 1,570 educational institutionsof which 111 were completely destroyed.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has indicated that these figures are not definitive, as they continue to operate in the areas where most of the Russian offensive is taking place, especially in the Donetsk region.
