The driver of a truck died this morning in a traffic accident registered in the AP-1 when passing Ribera Baja (Álava), when the vehicle he was riding in went off the road. It is about second carrier died in Álava in an accident at work in just 24 hours, as another died yesterday in Zambrana.
According to the Basque government’s security service, the fatal accident occurred after 2:15 am. For unknown reasons, a truck traveling in the direction of Eibar left the road and fell into a ravine.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped and after he was released he could not be resuscitated. The doctor who attended the scene confirmed his death.
The Ertzaintza has launched the corresponding investigation.
