A 48-year-old man from Styria and his 51-year-old partner have committed numerous thefts in self-service shops (farm shops) in recent months.
After extensive investigation, agents of the police inspectorate in Markt Hartmannsdorf were able to track down a 48-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district and his 51-year-old partner. The two are suspected of having repeatedly stolen cash and groceries from self-service stores (so-called farm shops) since at least the beginning of the year.
According to the current state of the investigation, the officials assume 29 crimes, mainly in the southeast and east of Styria. There was a total damage of several hundred euros. The two suspects fully confessed to the thefts and stated that they committed the thefts to earn a living.
Whether other crime scenes – including in Southern Burgenland – are possible is being investigated. After completion of the investigation, the two will be reported to the prosecutor’s office in Graz.
