In a scuffle between two men aged 20 and 23 and a 19-year-old on Matzleinsdorfer Platz in Vienna-Favoriten, there was a sudden attack with a knife. The two men are said to have injured the 19-year-old from Syria with the weapon around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
The two suspects fled, but were quickly apprehended by police officers from the Viennese standby unit. They were arrested and the murder weapon was seized by the officers.
The victim sustained stab and laceration injuries in the attack
The victim suffered a cut in the leg area and a stab wound in the arm area in the knife attack. Still, the 19-year-old was lucky: according to the police, the alleged perpetrators tried to stab the man in the abdomen and back. However, the jacket the man was wearing appeared to have been thick enough to have saved him from more serious injuries.
