A boy was seriously injured in an accident on Ing.-Etzel-Straße in Tyrol on Wednesday afternoon. The ten-year-old was overlooked by a motorist at a zebra crossing. Two cyclists were also killed in the capital because motorists did not see them.
The accident involving the ten-year-old boy happened shortly before 4 p.m. The student drove his scooter from the exhibition center towards Kapuzinergasse and wanted to cross a secured path there. A 39-year-old driver may have overlooked the child at the zebra crossing. The boy was thrown onto the hood of the car and landed on the road. The rescue took the badly injured arm to the clinic in Innsbruck. An alcohol test on the driver was negative.
Cyclists slammed into car doors
The day also came to an end in the clinic for a 74-year-old cyclist. The locals were on their way to the center on Anichstrasse in the afternoon when a 63-year-old opened the door of his parallel parked car. The cyclist hit the car door and fell. She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Very similar scenes took place a few hours earlier on Claudiaplatz in Innsbruck. There, a motorist (60) opened his door when a 36-year-old Canadian woman cycled past. She also hit the door and injured herself. According to the police, the woman went to a doctor on her own.
