It has long been a mystery when Ukraine will launch its planned counter-offensive — not even leaked Pentagon documents allow precise conclusions about the timing and course of action. Now videos that have surfaced on social media may provide clues as to where the counterattack could begin. It features well-equipped Ukrainian soldiers and also Western tanks. As soon as the weather permits, the offensive could begin, so far muddy ground has prevented greater advances.
One of the said videos appears to show soldiers from the 118th Mechanized Brigade making their way to their new M113 armored personnel carriers from the US. According to Italian military expert Thomas Theiner, this brigade now owns 90 M113s, 28 Polish T-72 main battle tanks, six M109 SPGs and more than 20 FH-70 artillery pieces from Estonia.
Military expert: counter-offensive in late April or early May
“According to Pentagon Leaks, the brigade finished its training in Germany, France and Slovakia on March 30,” Theiner told bild.de. Joint use exercises are now taking place with other brigades. German Leopard battle tanks and American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles will therefore also be deployed. On Tuesday, the Pentagon confirmed that some of the promised armored personnel carriers had arrived in Ukraine.
Patriot anti-aircraft guns arrived
