The use of pepper spray by a saleswoman against a rabid asylum seeker caught the attention of the “Krone” and we asked why the pepper spray was ready in the store in Bad Kreuzen. The businesswoman has complained about her suffering, but fears hostilities and therefore remains anonymous.
“After two years, every employee stops working for me. Everyone is afraid, they can’t take it anymore” – a clerk from Bad Kreuzen in the Perg district (name known to the editors) has had enormous problems for years with asylum seekers, who shoplift at her and become aggressive.
Watched by shop assistant while stealing
Recently, a 19-year-old Ethiopian had become rabid. He was observed stealing by a saleswoman on Monday and was asked about the theft by the clerk. The asylum seeker then suddenly behaved aggressively and shouted loudly. He shoved the store manager in the chest with both hands.
Spit up for bag checking
“My daughter, who was at the checkout, panicked. She wanted to defend me and sprayed the man with her pepper spray. Not in the face, but on the back of the jacket. That is important because some are now angry that they have pepper spray used”, says the woman from the Mühlviertel, who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of hostilities: “I have had the grocery store in Bad Kreuzen for 14 years. It has always been difficult, but it is only getting worse. My employees are shocked when they open the shop at half past two and the asylum seekers come. The problem is that the refugees flinch when you try to check their pockets. That’s why the employees often look away, so that the situation does not escalate again.”
Sad postscript from the 52-year-old: “It is an extreme burden for us. I have been bumped into several times and even spat on once for trying to control. I know this is also the case in other communities with large asylum centers .”
