The limit of two euros for a ball has already been exceeded in many places. However, the sellers feel driven and have to pass on the increases from the suppliers. The “Krone” asked around in the ice cream parlors of Upper Austria.
“We have left the price the same as last year, the ball still costs 1.90 euros with us,” says Martin Dorfner (50), head of the ice cream parlors “Don Giovanni”, which are known in the Salzkammergut for their quality. “Last year, however, we first increased it from 1.50 euros to 1.60 euros. Since we already have the first waddle. And when we had to raise it back to 1.90, the customer feedback was totally negative. I also understand when a father with four children says: ‘Everyone only gets one bullet.’ But for us it is of course a disaster.”
