Fire alarm on Monday evening in Längenfeld in Tyrol! A neighbor (53) raised the alarm. Attempts to extinguish the fire with a bucket of water failed, but the woman made sure no one was hurt. Police say cigarette butts were the cause of the fire.
At around 2:40 a.m., the 53-year-old noticed a small fire on the outside of her neighbor’s balcony. “The woman ran to the house and warned the residents, a 33-year-old German on the ground floor and the 27-year-old Austrian of the apartment in question,” the police said.

After attempts to extinguish the fire themselves failed, the emergency call was made. The volunteer fire brigade of Huben was able to quickly extinguish the fire. “The fire caused considerable material damage to part of the outer wall of the wooden balcony,” explains the management. Probably no one was injured by the observant neighbor either. “Based on the investigations carried out, it can be assumed that the fire was started by cigarette butts,” the researchers said.
