Engine on fire after goose collision

Date:

Dramatic footage of a Boeing 737 after takeoff from the airport in Columbus, Ohio: Both witnesses on the ground and passengers on the plane shared videos on social media of flames erupting from one of the turbines.

Fortunately, the pilot managed to make a safe emergency landing 40 minutes after takeoff. “The pilot radioed us saying geese had been sucked into the turbine and started a fire,” said one passenger. “The plane’s engines sounded like they were about to give up the ghost,” said another eyewitness.

The affected passengers were later able to board a replacement aircraft for their flight to Phoenix, Arizona. The FAA has already launched an investigation. They want to find out the causes of the outbreak of the fire.
