Incredible drama in Weyer in Upper Austria: An 8-year-old Ukrainian girl fell on her small scooter on the way home from school on Tuesday afternoon. The injuries were so severe that the young patient had to be placed in an artificial low blow.
The way home from school ended tragically for an 8-year-old in Weyer in the Steyr-Land district on Tuesday afternoon. The girl from Ukraine rode a micro scooter down a steep, paved path. Her 15-year-old brother was still chasing her when the girl hit an aluminum pole on a staircase and fell.
Stabilized by paramedics
A municipal employee became aware of the accident, alerted the emergency services and provided first aid. The girl was initially stabilized by the rescue and emergency doctor. She was taken to Waidhofen hospital.
Girl is now in a coma
However, the injuries must have been so severe that the 8-year-old had to be placed in the artificial low blow. She was then flown by helicopter to the children’s clinic in Linz.
The mother is cared for by the crisis intervention team.
